Description of deck by its author
(quoted):
There a lot of cards in here that transform a
1/1 Manaplasm that can deal lethal damage in a single turn. Since
Manaplasm is a “junk rare” card, it comes out of nowhere for the win.
When I first saw the card, I knew I had to build a deck around it. It
was really good, until Alara Reborn came out. Then it got insane.
Bloodbraid Elves put it over the top.
I originally had some defensive cards in here, like
Dosan the Falling Leaf and Shielding Plax, but they kinda slowed the
deck down.
Card Choices:
Devoted Druid: She can tap for two mana a turn, which is great, because
it helps you power out those twenty-damage out of nowhere turns.
Bloodbraid Elf: At minimum, she give your Manaplasm
+5/+5. At best she gives your Manaplasm +11/+11. Oh, and since she’s
haste, she adds on another 3 damage!
Tower Above: This gives Manaplasm +10/+10, trample,
wither, and “target creature must block it his turn if able.” (It’s
converted mana cost is 6. Sorry, but it cannot be played off of
Bloodbraid Elf.) I used this to kill an indestructible Rafiq, which was
really, really nice.
Manamorphose: Gives a free +2/+2 to Manaplasm, as well
as helps you set up the costs needed for Tower Above and Flame Javelin
Sangrite Surge: One hit kill. Turns your ooze into an
10/10 doublestriker.
Mage Slayer: Allows your big ooze to effectively gain
double strike, or take out an annoying blocker.
Flame Javelin: Gives Manaplasm +6/+6, can clear a
blocker, or deal the last bits of damage to your opponent.
