week and Michael Zeora's article on the Art Catacombs, I figured it was
about time to update the Art Catacombs with some artwork. This
time around I have a potpourri of different art from across many

December
2007 Art Update - Christmas Themed!
12/19/07. Since I did a theme
last month, I figured I would do a theme this month too. This
month's theme: Christmas! But how would I do that? I'm glad
you asked. This month I've added to the Art Catacombs card arts
from white, green and red cards. Thus the Christmas Theme since
Christmas colors are white, green and red. Please enjoy!

2007 Art Update - One Word Theme!
11/27/07.
Today I've got 65 new card images for you all sharing the
same theme -- the cards they come from are one-word cards. Mind
you, some of them are from split cards. Brainheyser, Anaconda,
Cataclysm, Development, Obliterate, Flashfreeze, Unmask... to name a

Lorwyn
Week Art Catacomb Update - October 2007.
10/23/07. I scoured the web for
Lorwyn artwork and I'm happy to say I have over 75 pieces of art in this
update. All Lorwyn art!!! Some of these cards came from Magic
Tutor, some from artist websites, but most came from Wizard's main website
in some form or another. I did a lot of photo editing this time
around but I hope you can all appreciate it. Enjoy!

If you guys pay attention to the featured links every month, you'll
notice one of the sites was a forum link to the WotC/Gleemox forums that
featured contact information for Magic Artists. I went through
that list tonight and updated MDV's Artist Links page. In the
process, I added 34 links bringing the total links to 189! Enjoy!

8/7/07. This month I've got 100
new pieces of artwork for you. All of which can be found by clicking

Future
Sight Art Catacomb Update!
5/31/07. Considering I haven't
updated the Art Catacombs with any new art in a few months, I figured it
be appropriate to add a little more this time. Today I am adding
eighty(80!) new
pieces of art, the majority of which are Future Sight pieces of art.
Some small, some large, all great art! Actually, all of them are

Art Catacomb Update!
2/15/07. Now that Planar Chaos is
out, I figured it appropriate to update the Art Catacombs of Magic Deck
Vortex with LOTS of Planar Chaos art. Everything from Akroma to
Dreamscape Artist can be found in the latest update. 42 of the 50
images are PC, while the others are goodies from Magic's past. I hope you enjoy the update as well as the Art

Catacombs Update: 50 New Pics!

Perhaps I'll do this on a monthly basis. Last month I updated the
Art Catacombs will 50 new pieces of art. New to the Catacombs
anyway. This month I have updated the catacombs again and with the
same amount of new pics -- fifty of 'em! This update includes quite
a bit of Time Spiral art, some Coldsnap Art and even some art stretching

I have tons of artwork on my computer, but not all of it has been posted
in the MDV Art Catacombs. However, I'm working to resolve that.

Catacombs Update: Avatar Art!
9/14/06.
What would a theme week be without an art update featuring artwork of the
theme. Now, I must say, in searched high and low for artwork for each
of the Avatars and I was only able to find about half of them. It
was quite frustrating as I know I've seen a good sized artwork for cards
like Sanguine Praetor and Excruciator. However, in searching I found some
better, bigger pieces of Avatar art to replace art I already had.

Time
Spiral Art? Why YES! 9 of 'em...
8/9/06.
Waiting for Time Spiral to be spoiled and/or
released isn't so bad if you have some pictures to look at... from the
set. Seven new pieces have been found on MTG Salvation and now I
will be adding them to the Art Catacombs of Magic Deck Vortex. Two
of the arts aren't really new.. and one really isn't like the other arts
(it's a photo of a banner/posted on a wall. I'm not 100% sure who
drew each one, so they will be added to the 'unknown artists' section in

Art Catacomb
Update: 40 New Pics!!!
5/5/06.
Apologies for the recent lack of updates - my internet went down for a few
days. In the meantime, I feel it's time for an Art Catacomb update.
I've got lots of artwork on my computer, but I only have about 20% of that
art of the website. Thus the update. Added to the catacomb is
artwork from the most recent sets and even some artwork of yore.
Please enjoy! Note that some of these are better versions of art

it to the Artist Links page. Nick has been doing artwork for
Magic: the Gathering since 9th Edition and he has some great stuff.
Cards like Megrim, Air Elemental, Cryptwailing, Leafdrake Roost,
Moonlight Bargain, Sadistic Augermage and more! In the meantime,

Druid
Art added to the catacombs of MDV!

I have scoured the web for some art pics of Druids and thus, added them to
the catacombs. Please note that of the 12 images I've added, some of
them are of great quality while others are not. There are pics of
Avenging Druid, Civic Wayfinder, Druid Lyrist, Seton, Werebear and more!

Catacombs Sectioned Off...
2/23/06 - As the MDV art
catacombs grow bigger and bigger, my bandwidth gets sucked up more an more.
And thus, I have separated the art catacomb pages into five different pages.
A thru D, E thru J, K thru O, P thru S and T thru Z. For those of you
on slower computers, this should also be beneficial to you (load times will
decrease). In the meantime, when you click on the Art Catacombs button
you will be redirected to a page with a separate button for each of the
aforementioned categories (or separations). I hope this helps you as

Have I ever mentioned that I have hundreds of art pics on my computer that
I haven't uploaded to the site? Well, I do. I grab them from a
variety of places including Wizard's official website and the artist
websites. Not all of them are a great resolution, but some are. In
the meantime, I have added just less than 40 new art pics to the website

Magic
Deck Vortex Art page gets facelift.
5/22/05. To make MDV more visually
consistant, I have updated the art pages to look like all of the other main
pages of MDV (similar to the changes I recently made for the deck database
pages. The main page will now act as a portal to the art resources MDV
has to offer including new art, artist links, art archives (known as the
catacombs) and art spotlight (something I wish to have in the future as a
writer steps up to take on this task). Please enjoy these changes as I
hope they will better your visits to MDV for Magic: the Gathering art pics

Some Saviors of Kamigawa art has been leaked including part of a cycle of
horse like creatures (possibly Kirins) and some great Kev Walker pics.

8/22/04. The art catacombs of Magic
Deck Vortex have been revised.. Here you will find
some art from popular and not-so-popular Magic cards by your favorite
artists. I have over 1000 images of which all will eventually be
posted here. Yes, it has been under construction for a LONG TIME..
but the wait is now over. I spent several hours today cataloging all
of the art I have on my computer so I can eventually add them all back
into the site. I
have posted all of the artwork I have for the following twelve
artists(which totals over one hundred M:tG art images thus
far!):
