Deck Database Updated with 92 New Decks!
6/9/08 - Believe it or not I have been scouring the net
for new decks ever since the last deck database update from earlier this
year. Not to mention the MDV Casual Deck Forum for DBMs ...
This past weekend I spent several hours and added 92 of them to the MDV
Deck Database. (With plenty more to add later!)
The propagation process is almost complete. The decks are all
posted, they are all added to the 'by color' and 'by type' pages as
well. The only thing left is to add them to the color navigation
structure (Up/Next) which you see on the actual deck pages.
Until then, enjoy all 92 new decks. There are
some Shadowmoor decks, some oldies and a lot of INFINITE combo decks. ~Streetz~

Decks Propagated Throughout the MDV Deck Database...
4/28/08 - After three months of posting the decks I am
finally propagating the deck database with these decks. It is done
as of this post. Now I can concentrate on posting new decks.

12/28/07 - After several years of this page being
dormant, I have updated it with some additional information. It's
like a FAQ now with an index of common DDB questions at the top in
addition to the introduction. Check it out and let me know if I am

New Decks Propagated!
10/20/07 - All of the recently posted 120 decks have been
propagated throughout the MDV Deck Database including the navigation
pages, the by color pages and the by type pages. You can see all

10/10/07 - Previously, I was only going to post 100
decks. But given the timely release of Lorwyn, I thought it was
appropriate to add another 20 decks - some of which include Lorwyn
Cards. The new deckswill be propagated throughout the deck
database in the next week. In the meantime, they are at least all

Deck Database Update in Progress...
9/30/07 - The 100 decks I have collected over the past
few months are finally being posted. I've started the update today
and plan on finishing it within the next week. In the meantime,

Deck Database Updated with 51 New Decks!
5/9/07 - This time around I've hit almost every deck
category including ALTWIN, BEATDOWN, BURN, COMBO, CONTROL, GROUP,
INFINITY, LAND DESTRUCTION, LITE, LOCKDOWN, MILL, RECURSION, S.C.S.,
THEME, TRIBAL, UN Decks and even WEENIE!About
fifteen of the new decks were from articles over the past two months.
About ten of them include some nifty Future Sight combos! Please
enjoy this deck database update. As always, if you have any
concerns or questions about the MDV DDB, let me know via email or in the
forums.

of the Day has begun!
3/27/07 - Deck of the Day is a new feature on Magic Deck
Vortex where you get to see a (maybe) random deck from the vast database
of decks on Magic Deck Vortex. Sometimes you'll find some
insightful piece of information about the deck. Sometimes it will
just be a glimpse of a deck you never knew existed. Each weekday,

Deck Database Posted & Complete!
3/4/07 - MDV will be posted deck database updates more
often now. What this means is smaller updates, but quicker
turnarounds. This month I've added 30 new decks to the database
including some GROUP, LITE, INFINITY and MILL decks. That and all
of the propagation is complete with this update. Remember that if you ever

1/30/07 - Given the setback of last week's server
issues, I haven't completed the deck database update yet. However,
I have posted 17 more decks bringing the total to 51 of 67. This
time, I plan to finish the update before the end of this week.

Internet. I'm about half done with entering the decks and I plan

What
is [DBM] and how can you get it?
1/16/07 - [DBM] is a forum term that means "DataBase
Material" -- which basically translates into 'a deck that could be
added to the Magic Deck Vortex Database of Decks'.
Anything labeled in the casual deck forums with [DBM] in the thread
title means I have my eye on it. Getting a DBM can be tough as I
typically only choose decks that the database doesn't have and/or is
based on a combo in the Combo Pages that
doesn't have a deck associated with it yet. However, you can read

in the forums. One of the great things about the
Casual Deck Forum is that there are a plethora of users who will
help you perfect your deck and make it work to it's prime. You could be
one of those people too! If you haven't joined the forums, you can
do so here.

Database Update: Done & Propagated
11/30/06 - Apologies for the lack of articles being
posted today and yesterday, but I really wanted to get the deck database
update complete. And finally, it is! The decks have all been
posted and also propogated throughout the by color and by type pages.

of decks. Even the Historical Deck Page got a few new ones.

11/28/06 - The deck database is almost complete.
I have posted another 17 decks in the new decks page bringing me up to
80 of 91 decks posted. Once all 91 are posted, I will proceed to
propagate them through the by color and by deck type database pages.

11/21/06 - As previously mentioned, I am in the
process of adding 91 decks to the database. Since the last post
about this, I have added 26 more decks to the "New Decks" page.
Once all 91 are posted, the decks will be propogated into the by type

Deck Database Update Started!
11/18/06 - 91 decks! That's right, 91 New Decks
will be added to the MDV Deck Datbase very soon. I started the
update this afternoon and have 37 of them posted. I will be
posting more every day for the next week. In the meantime, check
out the New Decks page and see the decks posted and the decks yet to be

Submitting
Decks to Magic Deck Vortex...
11/12/06 - Have you ever wondered how to submit a deck
to the MDV Deck Database? It's easier than you think. While
MDV has tried many different means of submitting decks, including via
email and via a Tool generated by AdventuresOn, all deck submissions
will now need to be posted in the Casual Deck Forum, linked above.
If your deck is DBM'd in that forum, that means it has the possibility
of being added to the database. To find out more about the [DBM]
phrase used in the deck forum, please go
here.
If you have any questions about this, reply to the post linked
previously. Otherwise, just make sure to read the forum rules and
use card/deck tags in your submission. Also, note that I will be
updating the entire deck submission section on MDV Main -- but I didn't
have time to do that today. Expect that sometime in the next month
or so. I hope to include some basic guides to deck building, deck

Deck Update: 40 New Decks!
8/31/06 - Forty new decks have been added to the deck
database including a lot of decks using Coldsnap and Dissension cards.
There is even one Infinity deck and three land destruction decks and
mill decks! About half of these decks are decks from existing
articles on MDV; these decks are marked with double-asterisks.
Please enjoy this update and keep checking back every month for more

July's
Deck Update Complete: 21 New Decks.
7/9/06 - It may be a small update, but at least I
completed it all in one day! There are a total of 21 new decks
added completely to the MDV deck database. There's a nice selection
of decks this time around with two Beatdown, one Burn, four Combo, four
Control, five Recursion, two Single-Card-Strategies, one Theme and
finally two tribal decks. There is also some Lite, Group and Vintage
decks in the mix. Thanks

Database Propagation Complete!
6/23/06 - All 60 of the new decks recently added to
the deck database here on Magic Deck Vortex have been 'propagated'!
That is, all of the decks are now added to the
by color,
by type,
new decks and navigational areas. On a side note, I have
changed that bright red color on all of the deck pages to a darker
red... I found it much more pleasing on the eyes. Sorry about

6/22/06 - The last nine decks have been entered into
the Deck Database making for a total of 60 new decks. These will
be propagated into the 'by type' and 'by color' pages very soon.

6/21/06 - I've added seventeen more decks to the New
Decks page in the Deck Database. Only nine more to go until all 60
are posted. Once all are posted I will propagate them throughout
the rest of the DDB including the by type and by color pages.

Deck Database Update in Progress.
6/19/06 - As mentioned previously, whenever I peruse
the net for MTG material I bookmark decks that I eventually want to add
to the database. Since the last update I have bookmarked many a
deck. This time around, with the latest DDB update, I have 60 new
decks in store for you. As of today I am over 50% through the update.
34 decks of the 60 proposed have been added. All of these new
decks will be added to the 'by type' and 'by color' sections once all 60
decks are posted. Check out the decks that are posted and the ones

4/8/06 - When I say propagated, my new word of the

Historical
Decks.. which ones am I missing?
3/24/06 - So I was gathering decks for the next deck
database update and I realized my 'historical
deck database' section was lacking. Yes, I have a lot of decks
in that section of the site... but I thought: which ones am I missing?
I mean, Magic has been around for more than 10 years... there has to be
more than 50 decks to be on this list. While the historical decks
aren't exactly 'casual', they important to see, view, dissect and
understand for any good deck builder. Your task? Look over
the Historical decks and tell me
in this
thread which decks I am missing or that shouldn't be on the list.

Update Complete - 78 New Decks!
2/20/06 - Turns out there were a few more than 75
decks - and all of them have been completely added to the main database
(including by color and by type). There is a wide assortment of
decks this time around including a few for almost all of the deck
categories. I even have a new themed deck for you (not tribal).

Deck
layout updates complete!
1/29/06 - After eight months of updating each deck
page in the MDV Deck Database, I am finally complete. Each deck
page is now designed around the current deck layout template and where
available, I've added descriptions of the decks. It was amusing to
do this as I saw some of the REALLY old deck page layouts (where were
VERY UGLY). I've also made a few other adjustments here and there.
Overall, I just wanted to make the deck database more consistent in the
way I presented the decks to you. If you ever see any errors on
the deck pages, please let me know. In the meantime, thank you for

updates to the DDB...
11/5/05 - Over the past several months I have been
updating the layout of the deck pages to match to current layout (as
best referenced on the latest deck pages). It has been a slow and
grueling process but I am almost done. A-R, Some of S, and X-Z are
now complete. I am referring to the names of the decks. As I
go through the decks I try to find the original article written about
the deck and include the deck description in the MDV Deck Database.
I also try and update the card pictures and sideboard information.
As I have mentioned before, I am trying to complete this by the end of
the year and I am so close to completion. Once I finish this I can

Update: 43 New Decks!
11/4/05 - Another 43 new decks have been added to the
database including a bunch of combo decks and single card strategy
decks. There are, of course, a few Mill decks, Infinite Decks and
LD decks for your review too. I think this month's decks are a
nice mix that everyone can enjoy. Also note that these decks have
been added to the by color and by type pages. You can discuss this
