How do you feel about the recently announced changes to Magic: the
Gathering?
6/4/08 - If you haven't read up on the recent
changes to Magic: the Gathering, as announced
here, please do. Smaller set sizes, different theme decks,
different Fat Packs and plus! Mythic Rares?!? Is this a good
thing for Magic? Or a bad thing? Place your vote in this

Empires Contest: Results!
6/1/08 - Results are now posted; get ready to
get mad. Well at least some of you. I got very anal, and very technical
when comparing my cards. Some people took chances and failed epically,
others stayed the course and got railed for it. That's right - as YWN
puts it - my moronic and hard to predict judging skills are at it

Contest: Class-Wars!
1/25/08 - About two years ago Streetz ran a
class-based contest
designed to use a limited pool of Tribal based around the D&D style
classes. I speak of this only because Morningtide brings us to an
interesting crossroad; while it focuses heavily on the tribal lines
created by Lorwyn, it also is the first set to really ever focus on the
class aspect of creatures. As a result you're seeing numerous Faerie
Rogues, Goblin Warriors, and others all designed along the tribal lines
created by Lorwyn and the class lines being defined in Morningtide.

Celixia Decks Posted with More to Come!
6/25/07 - Now that I am gearing back up with Powershift, I figured I
would update some things in that section of the site. The section
of fictional cards, that is. More specifically, all of the pages
dealing with Celixia and it's many facets and sets. In the meantime, I
have posted 10 decks from the Celixia block (currently only using

Fictional
Cards: Other Sets
2/20/07 - The fictional cards section
of Magic Deck Vortex has always had Links and lots of information about my
set, called Celixia, but I never fleshed out the rest of it. In the
meantime, I plan on developing this section and I need your help. The first
thing I would like to do is post "Other (Fictional) Sets". I will need
you all to link me to other sites on the web that have a listing for a
fictional set. Please post your comments and input about this in the
forums.

This is just a friendly reminder that Thematic Landscaping, the
current MDV deckbuilding contest, has a deadline and that deadline is
this upcoming Wednesday. Remember your deck has to be LAND
THEMED... not just a land-based combo deck. Read up on the rules
here.

the usual restrictions will apply but the focus will be completely
different than all others before it. Entries are due by the end of
1/16/07 and need to be submitted via email to
here. Your task: Create a land-themed deck with at least 28 lands.
