Re: Virus on MDV? Need your help to resolve this.

Here is some recent correspondence: NOTE: They were saying formating the drive may be out only option left. After talking to BB, this should be necessary.

Quote:
After speaking to one of my site techies who specialized in LINUX, there is a possibility that this infection is on the host side of things and not actually on my site.

Before we reformat anything, I believe you need to transfer everything over to a new server of the same specs, including mysql databases, etc.

Note: You are running an older version of CentOS.

Please advise.

Sincerely,

John Streetz

Personally, even though I can understand how big of a pain it would be to transfer to a different host, I would not put up with this kind of stuff going on. I would be looking for a different host.

Unless they think you're just playing around with this, they should at least be trying to do something. Not piddle around like they have so obviously been doing.

Maybe I'm being to harsh... Doesn't change my opinion on this matter. We have a problem here. It would seem that HostForWeb isn't doing everything they can to help get it taken care of....

Re: Virus on MDV? Need your help to resolve this.

Did you use the "AOL McAfee Safety and Security Center", like I have? But the thing is, is that I didn't know when did it happen by the time it was a virus on the MDV by the time I wasn't here in this MDV forum. Can you explain the story what happen when the virus got on to this MDV forum.

Maybe that's because...
  1. ActiveX Control is a unhealthy situation for every computers.
  2. ActiveX Control were renewed into a virus.
  3. Is ActiveX Control is a killer?

Maybe Streetz will explain the story what happen when the virus got on to this MDV forum, can you Streetz?

I now have a new server (after the last one died) and thus -- let me know if you are still getting the virus issues. I haven't received any on my computer since the new server.
