Best One Cost Cards

I love low cost cards I was wondering what you thought were the best one cost cards for each color (not counting power nine)

I would say....

White - Brave the Elements
Red - Lightning Bolt
Blue - Ponder
Green - Birds of Paradise
Black - Dark Ritual

Re: Best One Cost Cards

I would propose Path to Exile if you're talking about standard, or Swords to Plowshares if it's just in general sans power nine.

Re: Best One Cost Cards

Green- Rancor/Fastbond
Black-Disciple of the Vault/Imperial Seal/[cardThoughtseize[/card] (black has a lot of good options at the one drop slot. Even Festering Goblin is a good card.)
Red- Goblin Grenade...
Red/White- Figure of Destiny
Blue- Ancestral Recall
Artifacts- Mana Vault, Sol Ring, Skullclamp, Aether Vial, Pithing Needle, or my personal favorite Sensei's Diving Top

I'm getting very sick of, every time we see a cool creature - or any card - so many people just go "But it dies to (random kill card X). Yes, there are answers to it. But you know what? There are answers to those answers. That's the beauty of the game. Look at a card based on its own merits, don't just think "Terror, next" or "Naturalize, next" or "Cancel, next". Cause if you think that way, then every card sucks. The game sucks. Even those answers you just listed SUCK.

GET OVER IT.

That is all.

Re: Best One Cost Cards

Cog, recall is part of the P9.

I'd say:

Green: Fastbond. Ridiculously overpowered.
Red: Goblin Welder. This guy enables so many stupid (i.e. ridiculously powerful) things.
Blue: Tough call, but I think I'm gonna say Brainstorm. Only good with fetches though.
White: Swords to Plowshares. Nothing else comes close.
Black: Probably Vampiric Tutor. A tough call though, black loves the 1 slot.

Re: Best One Cost Cards

Just on a side note: I'm purposely avoiding anything that anyone has said already.

White: StP is the very first thing that comes to mind, but I gotta give props to Isamaru, Hound of Konda.

Blue: Serum Visions. Up until Ponder came out, this was the best Ext first turn deck searching. At least, it was my favorite one.

Black: Hmm... Innocent Blood *shrugs* Hey, I've always used it.

Red: Seal of Fire. My explanation is in the spoiler:
Spoiler:
I love dropping Seal of Fire on the first turn. Mainly because I love having it sit there and make my opponent think twice about playing creatures early on. Especially good ones, like your Goblin Welder, Goblin Lackey, Birds of Paradise, etc... When your opponent hesitates when doing something, it usually throws off their tempo - and that's ALWAYS good.

Green: Search for Tomorrow. Hey! I consider it a one-drop. I LOVE suspending this card turn 1.

Re: Best One Cost Cards

Green: I'd give it to Fastbond. That card is stupid broken.
White: I think Land Tax is my favorite white one drop. Especially in multiples and when combined with fastbond.
Blue: Ponder. If we're ignoring power nine, this one just takes the top slot.
Black: I hate to say it, but it's probably Dark Ritual. If I can ignore that card though I'd suggest Extirpate. One to remove all copies of a single card from the game (as long as one is in the graveyard), AND it can't be countered.
Red: Lightning Bolt, for obvious reasons.

see, i know that raging goblin sucks compared to many other cards..but the reason i put it there is because it has a personal meaning. When i began playing mtg, a friend of mine gave me a few commons to begin practicing with...the best 2 of these were a muscle sliver and a raging goblin. Always loved the goblin since that, and made a whole sliver deck...

Re: Best One Cost Cards

White - Martyr of Sands
- When played early in a mono-white deck, life gain is INSANE
Blue - Cosi's Trickster
- With everyone lovin to play Terramorphic expanse turn one, why not?
Black - Dark Ritual
- Enough said.
Red - Spark Elemental
- Hit with the same power as Lightning Bolt, or have them chump block and deal some damage to them anyways, Win-Win
Green - Rancor
- Slap this baby on a ROFLcopter and you've got a 2/2 flying trampler turn one
Artifact - Pithing Needle
- One of the greatest sideboard of all time.
