They used the abbreviation 'ROE'. Not sure if that's what it's officially gonna be, but it works for me .

Actually, Sorin was one of the planeswalkers responsible for imprisoning the Eldrazi in the first place . And Nissa has no love for the Eldrazi, either.

'Rise of the Eldrazi' is, to me at least, an unusual but extremely cool name for a Magic expansion. Its epicness gives me the impression that it's going to be turned into an event - one which has repercussions throughout the multiverse beyond the Zendikar block.

...or maybe it'll just get resolved in the Zendikar block novel .

Ah, so THAT'S what the final stage of Garruk's "corruption" will look like! I mean, those things are DEFINITELY Garruk, the similarity between the two are uncanny, right? How trippy is it that Garruk was the Eldrazi all along, huh?

BTW, remember how Nissa Revane was BG-colored in the Xbox game? That art TOTALLY hints at how that will play out - Sorin will sacrifice himself and give his powers to Nissa, making her BG-aligned! \^_^/

And then Nissa and Urrori (that's what Garruk will change his name onto after the transformation is complete) will duke it out until Nicol Bolas appears and steals all the spotlight. I mean, the flavor text of Carnage Altar is SO evidence of that, am I right?

Good observation about Marit Lage, Cogline. It sure seems possible, the image follows that line really well. Now that you mention it, Marit Lage might very well have been Garruk before he became a hunter.

Someone on MGTSulivtation also pointed out that the Garruk-things in the background resemble the movie "Krull". Perhaps this has something to do with the Magic full-motion picture to be out soon?

Frankly, I was immediately bored with the D&D style "adventure world" feel of Zendikar. However, a classic Fantasy/Sci-Fi trope like "an ancient evil awakes?" Awesome! I look forward to the Rise of the Eldrazi and the butt-kicking that ensues.

Just don't forget that there's still Worldwake, another set of D&D style "adventure world", before Rise of the Eldrazi actually comes out. So you're still gonna have to look forward for it for a reasonable amount of time.

Please don't bring up the movie "Krull." Me and my buddies were all set to see the movie Private School. We bought our tickets and were sitting in the theater. Then they came through to check IDs! I've never seen that before/since. We had to go watch Krull. It these Eldrazi remind me of Krull, I'm gonna have to stick to my homarid decks. I still think the Eldrazi will be .
