Poll Discussion: How would you rate Lorwyn? On a scale from 1 to 10.

out of 10? I'd give it a 6. They made the set so that people would make strictly lowryn decks. Maybe it's just me. But i feel like wizards made these cards jsut so they could fit with each other. MAYBE cards from previous sets who share the same tribe as them, such as elves. But screw elves, they're just as cheap as slivers.

Aye, it's very parasitic, but that makes Limited much more fun. Looks like they're trying to force Tribal decks into Tier 1 or something, for the lack of amazing non-Tribal cards. So there isn't too much you can do with the set (8 tribes - pick one) unlike Ravnica which had plenty of other stuff, being broken up as it was, but it is fun and interacts with other sets via the tribes pretty well, so I'll give it a 7.

I'm going to break down my analysis of the block alittle:
Overall feel: 5/10 - there's somethings here which I just love (Forced Fruition and the walkers) but the rest is pretty jank Mechanics: 7/10 - Envoke rocks, keyword Deathtouch is gravy and Clash could be interesting. Creatures: 3/10 - Elementals are cool; elves and goblins are played beyond belief and don't get me started on Fairies! Art: 4/10 - Gentlemen; I present the Yu-Gi-Oh-fication of MTG; Kiddy Art (Save the lands - Totally biased opinion) Interraction: 4/10 - On it's own great; outside the block it stutters somewhat. Overall score = (5+7+3+4+4) = 23/50 or 46% = Sub-standard

For limited purposes: Great! 9/10, for sometimes VERY annoying HEAVY removals for midsize, while weenies don't really seem balanced, SOMETIMES. It's all kinda random, sometimes. You can't really draft a GOOD deck. You simply can hope that you face the opponents you are STRONG against.
For constructed: TREEFOLK! But mostly the rares and uncommons are REALLY focused on tribal, and when you aren't into tribals, that's kinda lame. 5/10 For buying a booster pack: If you love to build a whole new deck, its great. Few sets have ever been as beginner-friendly. But you won't find much to stuff into your existing decks. And the artworks are really double-edged swords. Some love them, some hate them. I for one find blue skies on goblin cards kinda annoying... Ruins the feel of it. Also, I miss the "I AM THE EVIL ENEMY!"-feel to it. No Zombies, no Demons, no Horrors, none. Only some pranksters. 4/10

The setting - 9
The tribes - 9 The art - 8 Evoke, clash, champion - 7 Planeswalkers - 8 Interesting cards - 8 Naming and flavortext - 6 Resulting decks - no idea yet. 55/70 = 79% B+ It seems to me there is good potential for interesting constructed decks. Play multicolor-single tribe, or monocolor multi-tribe, and changelings can hold your deck together. I suppose some people don't want to play creature decks, but if you have something like faeries, they can be more about abilities than combat, so just pretend it's not tribal and you can be happy
