Hmmm. We disagree with you before hearing your opinion, then we listen to it anyways after deciding beforehand to disregard it? Confusing.
First off, Declaration of Naught. You gave it a C, the most will be 3 spells, but that's how often? Not to mention you need open for it to work, so it's restricting to the smallest of scenarios. First Impression-wise in my eyes it deserves at the most a D or D-, any lower and we are talking Es with Luther. ![]() Dewdrop spy gets the same grade as declaration? I'm confused, why? A 2/2 flier for 3 is good, with flash; great! Let it be a rogue to help get prowl, and you got yourself a bonus. Add the top-deck effect and you're looking at a prime card. It's 100 times better than declaration, which should not = declaration's grade. Very odd, Distant melody seems more playable than declaration, yet it's a D? It costs 4, harmonize costs ![]() ![]() granted it's draw in green, but Melody costs just ![]() . A lot easier to achieve. Better than a D in my First Impressions.Mothdust Changeling - Elf-deck? Where did elf-deck come from? Other reasons that make more sense would be more appropriate I believe. Negate is odd, as over the Rumor Mill, we realized the power-creep of "creatures", this counters non-creatures. If I had that in my thought when doing negate, it wouldn't be a B that's for sure. Your grade for Research the Deep was odd, don't you like cheap draw? The chance to do it again, I'm surprised by your own comments beforehand of a lower grade. You'll pass? Thought you liked cheap cards, and cheap draw...especially after your Mind Spring review, and your distant melody review. Is there any draw card besides Ancestral recall that you'll play? Cause it seems you only play broken draw spells that let you draw insane amounts of cards for little to no mana. By your sage of fables review, I'm guessing you're giving them grades based off the decks they were good for, okay I'll keep that in mind. Supreme Exemplar - You like eater of days more, or Leveler? Wha? Comparing these cards to each other without outside help, eater of days gives your opponet a nice little boost of 3 turns? To kick you in the face or destroy your eater and it was all for nothing. This card is superior to both easily, without a second thought. Vendilion Clique - You seemed to hate faerie creatures in this, after fencer clip was disliked, yet this card is better? It has less toughness, and flash and flying. I'm being lead to believe you like it more because it has lower toughness and you get rid of one card and let them draw. That's very confusing. Lastly, Waterspout Weavers. You seem to cut cards costing over 4, so you like this because it grants flying to merfolk? Merfolk don't care to fly, they care to tap as you have seen with other merfolk. With your past opinions formulated, I'd imagine you give this a D or something. I think it's odd to grade a Tribal-block based on what they do without the tribal-theme which is what they were designed around. I'm confused in reading, you give these cards low grades for not being better than what they were made for. Interesting how many cards you call bland. What is an interesting card for you? What's a non-bland card so I may compare it to other cards. Overall, it was confusing at "how" and "why" you graded certain cards the way you did. I didn't know what to base your judgments off of. You end the article saying rogues are doing good, but don't like cards that are made for tribal decks because in general they aren't good? This being a tribal block, it confused me. It wasn't that bad, but I felt mis-led in your opinion as you seemed to 180 your "rules" for a handful of cards. That and you seem to not like any drawing card unless it's ancestral recall. I'd like you to get back to me on my comments so we can learn more about your First Impressions. Not trying to be mean, but I feel I can get into a good discussion about why someone feels the way they do. Until then.
