Behold the power: Barren Glory

This neat, cheap(price) card let you, if you play it for a little drawback... BOOM! The next upkeep you sir win the game, how powerful is that...

So... I looked it and said, this could be the next big thing! So I tried to make a deck around it.

And here is the decklist:

The Combo:
This deck is build around the combo Barren Glory,Worldpurge and Oblivion Ring.

A simple explanation:
You o-ring the barren, purge and return the barren into play and put all the cards in your hand to the library.

Explanation from Mr. Streetz:

Anyway... this combo works like this: Play Barren Glory. Then Play Oblivion Ring on Barren Glory. Then Play Worldpurge and choose to keep no cards. Barren Glory will come back into play since Oblivion Ring left play and you will win the game. (Since you have no other cards in play and no cards in hand).

Calciform Pools: That is to store mana up, just in case.

Barren Glory,Worldpurge and Oblivion Ring: The combo.
Idylic tutor: Tutor to search the pieces(Barren and o-ring)
Glittering wish: Tutor to search a purge or moat...
Ponder and Mystic speculation: To organize the library and keep the good cards
Coalition Relic: The MVP of the deck, this helps you a lot! An effective mana "smoother"
Pact of negation: To counter and protect your stuff... If you counter a spell that if affecting your purge, you don't lose the game because you win first with the barren, you choose which effect goes first.
Three Dudes: This card is used if the combo is slow and need a plan B

I for one love Barren Glory and still like to build a deck around it. After realising worldpurge is great for it and I think I have a few copies of that I might just go for it.

I like to use Barren Glory with Claws of Gix and Simian Spirit Guide.

You get the claws into play, sacrifice all your lands and use the spirit guide to get you the last mana needed to sacrifice the claw to itself.

Your Worldpurge idea is very tempting though, and it seems like a smooth, effective control deck with a built-in combo. Good job.

EDIT: If you add Lotus Bloom you can use the aforementioned combination one turn earlier.

very nice deck and looks like it would run smoothly. about the side the only think i can think to change at the moment take out 3 Faerie Macabre 1 Wheel of Sun and Moon and add 2 tormod's crypt, and 2 Venser, Shaper Savant

nice build...

suggestions:

either replace kitchen finks w/ or add heartmender. its automatic regen an amazing creature deterrent.

im not a big fan of mystic speculation. its a little underwhelming for me. maybe add telling time or that wizard from time spiral thats sort of like sage owl (the name escapes me right now)

other than that...maybe some more counters somehow...and you need an alt win if the purge combo dosnt work well. also you need a way to beat all the red decks running around (especially if this is for any type of standard).

you can also use Apocalypse to remove all permanents from the game and discard your hand, although it's red and stuff.

I'm going to build this on MWS and try it out.
