I will admit, I don't often read many articles in full. Normally, I just glance a few if at all. However, this one hit a topic that I once considered trying. After I wrote my first 'article' and submitted it, for some reason I quickly lost interest. It was sent back to me (with good reason), however I no longer had any motivation to keep going with it and I eventually just let it go.

I've come up with an idea though... I needed a topic to write about that I could write more than just one article about and I think I found one.

I just gotta muster up the time to write ONE article and then PM hamsandwich again.

Looking to get into the Writer's Guild but short on ideas and don't know where to start?

Well let me give you some ten ideas we'd love to see done. Maybe you can be a writer to the punch and provide an article we're already looking for.

1) A Review of Magic Online Version 3.0 or anything MTGO related honestly.
2) A Preview (Future Review) of Duel of the Planeswalkers (the XBOX 360 dlc)
3) A dissection of Tournament decks showing players how to make budget versions that still work quite well.
4) Uncommons. The redheaded middle stepchild of Magic. The sure could use some attention.
5) Custom Card Design. Make sure you know your stuff though =). Maybe a tutorial, maybe I'd help you who knows!
6) Lessons Learned. Deckbuilding over the years. Showing how you evolved as a player and improved your playing. Teaching lessons you've learned and showing examples of how you've improved decks you once thought were "amazing" and later realized were "crap"
7) How to properly teach beginners to play. Notice the properly belongs to the teacher, not the beginner
8) Alternative Format Magic.
9) Write in an existing series. Check out the archive.
10) If in doubt write about your favorite deck. Usually that's where you can draw the most words and stories.

How about doing coverage on the MDV League? People love to read about themselves and having a small community... It would be like reading the sports section of your local newspaper.

I don't think I really have the talent or the time to be a member of the writers guild, but I was thinking of submitting a trial article for 'The Games People Play', as alternate formats are one of my favourite aspects of the game.

I already have an idea for what I'd like to write, but I thought I'd check here first to make sure it's the sort of thing you'd be willing to consider putting on the site. I know Lionden_56 normally writes them, and I'm a big fan of his series, but I always wish there was more of it.

Then see if you can get with LD and write more of them, we can ALWAYS use more writers, even if you don't think you have the talent you might find yourself pleasantly surprised.

Hi, I haven't been logged in for quite some time, but I always take a look through the articles when I'm online. You never know what kind of gems of information you can find for designing, constructing, or revising decks within any given article. I have been playing MTG since 1998, and in my decade of experience I believe that I have learned a thing or two about constructing my decks and executing combos that I would like to share. Kind of repay the population for the gifts of information I have mined. I would be very interested in writing for MDV and believe that I also could be of help to people in a Q&A deckbuilding type role. A type of thing where people submit their ideas to me and I suggest what they could do to take an idea and make it a consistent threat whenever they play it. I'm also a land buff, as I believe a mana base differentiates good decks from great ones. Delving into the core of a deck theme and squeezing everything I can out of it is a huge part of why I love MTG!!! Please let me know if you would be interested in my services, preferably by email.
