great job, potatobrain!
to all: pb has been working in the New Writer's Room of the Guild for a few months now. i have watched his writing style improve and and am extremely proud to finally be getting this article to the main page. he has put forth a great deal of effort and due to the guild's(my) winter hibernation, this piece was pushed to the backburner for a while. chime in and let him know what you think. i hope we'll be seeing a lot more from him in 2009! congratulations, man!

I just realized this is actually the first article in your Deck Progression series. I will be posting an archive for your series as well. Good job, pb!

Oh hey, thanks guys! I'm very proud of this article, it took me forever to write because the deck went through eight builds (I spared you guys some of them).
I just want to say that I appreciate working with you all on MDV. Hamsandwich is the man! Manages to push all the right buttons to get things done. Oh, and a special thank you to Streetz for making the last minute changes on the Reaper King article that I requested. These are just small examples of why I'm so excited to write for MDV. Anyway, you know I love this place. Stay tuned for more good things ![]() Pbrain out |

Re: Deck Progressions: Reaper Kings and Pretty Things. - by Potatobrain
Hey potatobrain, thank you very much for building a Reaper King-deck that has potential. I can't wait to assemble my own. Just one question, in the last part you tell us: "To ensure I would have enough ways to discard the Reaper King when I drew him, I also added two Careful Study. ", but those Careful Study's don't appear on the last deck-list, so my question: what did you cut out to make room for them?
Thanks, GHanser |

Re: Deck Progressions: Reaper Kings and Pretty Things. - by Potatobrain
Thanks for the article. This was was the first place I looked when I built my own Reaper King deck. Thirst For Knowledge is the perfect card for scarecrows, and flavor-wise, since most are afraid of fire, they need to drink a lot to stay hydrated!
I've never built a dueling Scarecrow deck, though I wouldn't need to worry about a "curve" with most of the folks I play against anyway... Any new incarnations?
