Enjoy! The set is final so there won't be any changes to it. However, feel free to tear it apart or complement certain designs/arts, etc.

Problems with ambush. Big problems. "Triggered ability from non-public zone" style problems. Rules say "NO!".

That's all for now, I haven't looked over the actual cards themselves enough for further comment.

How would the ability need to be phrased to work correctly?

Might I suggest:

Ambush [COST]: Put this creature into play blocking target creature attacking you. You may only play this ability after blockers are declared.

This wording is based upon Flash Foliage, but might not quite work the way you want to. As it stands under your wording, Ambush doesn't actually force the creature to block anything however that feels at odds with how the abilities flavor should translate.

I'm sure Arix will have a few gripes with how the ability works out my way but I feel this puts it on a far better footing.

That works with two small ammendments. First, adding a "you may" onto the ability. Second, adding a reveal to the cost. Also, the second sentence isn't really necessary.

Why reveal? Surely the fact the creature comes into play reveals it anyway.

But you are right on the "You may.." part.

Check ninjutsu. You need to reveal as part of the cost because the cost is paid a long time before the effect takes place.

If you'd like it to work like Prowl/Qasali Ambusher does:
Ambush M (You may play this any time you could play an instant for its ambush cost if one or more creatures are attacking you. If you do, return this to its owner's hand at end of combat.)

If you'd rather have it work like ninjutsu/forecast do:
Ambush M (M, Reveal this from your hand: You may play this without paying its mana cost. If you do, return it to its owner's hand at end of combat. Play this ability only if one or more creatures are attacking you.)
Or, if you'd rather:
Ambush M (M, Reveal this from your hand: You may put this into play. If you do, return it to its owner's hand at end of combat. Play this ability only if one or more creatures are attacking you.)

What matters is what comes before that. You need to tell your opponent what it is you're paying mana for as you play it, not after it resolves. Otherwise, you get dialogues like, "Yeah, I'm paying mana to play an ambush card, but since I'm not telling you what card it is I'm paying mana for, you figure out on your own whether or not you want to do something in responce."

Not sure if that was intentional, but I laughed.

Just looking through and noticing some things...

Empod Sanctifier is probably a tad too efficient. For , a 1/1 flying is the best you can get I'd say.

Toch'Nar Rogue isn't white at all. Ability #1 is black to the bone, and the pump ability is definitely red.

Ptah's Whim (and a few other cards) have slight wording issues. Nothing too serious though.

Abandoned Realm should probably be uncommon.

Lastly, this set is huge. It looks good overall though. This is the first I've looked at it in several years.
