Cool article - I like seeing coverage of the less-talked about aspects of Magic. The homebrew Chimerae (sp?) were pretty neat too, a nice touch.

We had more coming, but in the end lost the time to properly render them as the art was quite difficult. Michael Z may in the end put out the finished cards.

Re: Irrational Love: Chimeras. The Legos of Magic.
yeah, it was really the art that was hard do render to make each one seem different and simular, like all the *-Eye Chimera just have glow, but the Darksteel and kin were a bit harder...
some that didn't make it were like Glass-Kite Chimera and such... all in all good article...

A very good article. Maybe someone should petition Wizards and get some more of those creatures made.

I think your sig image kind of explains why there's not a huge rush for new Chimera cards. Slivers are basically a more powerful version of the same thing.

I'm kind of dissapointed you didn't delve into a real world tie in. Just an aside about Ligers would have made my day.
Great article none the less.

Yeah, I just tend to like unique tribes like Slivers and Chimeras. I'm doing another series for land week on two specific cards then after that I think I may have to do a week on Licids. They're so silly they're great.

Well it was defiantly a good article, though I don't feel to strongly about wanting to see more chimeras I would defiantly love to see more minotaurs and centaurs
