Man, it's good to be back! Anyway, I see your challenge, and have come up with a slightly slow, but simple solution: Sheltered Valley+Parralax Tide
The tide can be easily brought out via mana rocks, loti, and moxes, then you just remove a valley and then play a new one. Through this method you can have all Valleys out in three-four turns, and since the tide puts them directly back into play, the valleys C-I-P affect won't happen. I could see a Test of Endurance deck coming out of this... , either way, I'm just here to present the combo. Also, W00T!! first combo!

Edit: awwww man! beaten by two minutes while posting this! You will not best me next time Raine, even though someone else probably will anyway! Also, as I see, your combo's fine.

I was thinking Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth with Sheltered Valley. But even then, the Tomb will count as one of your three lands...

The parallax tide won't work, cause it will still trigger the "come into play" ability, just like momentarily blinking a creature. Well I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

The only way I can think is if you Trickbind, Voidslime, or best stifle the "comes into play ability". Of course you would need at least 1 island, and need a way to sac lands. How about zuran orb since we're talking about such old lands.

Using the cards of the time...Sheltered Valley and Teferi's Realm OR Sheltered Valley and 3 Reality Ripple's

Use Teferi's Realm or 3 Reality Ripples to get the 3 Sheltered Valleys into play. Then use Zuran Orb, Reaping the Rewards, Pegasus Stampede, Claws of Gix, Forbidden Ritual to sacrifice the extra lands. This works when Parallax Tide doesn't because when permanents phase in they do not trigger coming into play effects.

I run 3 Sheltered Valley's in my Taniwha Deck because of the phasing lands.

Aha! Play Sheltered Valley, then exchange it with an opponent's land via Political Trickery, Vedalken Plotter, or Shifting Borders, play another Valley, exchange again (so the opponent has 2 valleys and you have none), play a third valley, cast Brand, and voila! 3 in play, and to gain the life, either sac the lands any way you'd like or bounce them with alternate costs (Gush) or moonfolk. Zuran Orb is probably the best, being free, and you get rid of 2 of your opponent's lands too ^^.

I finally got around to reading this thread, and of the submitals, Mal is the winner. Anyone else have any other ideas?

How come no one used the cheesy Illusionary creatures who make your land an Island until end of turn, then play your next Sheltered Valley?

Does raine's combo work at all? Or is this out of flavor?

I was probably gonna use that merfolk "tap: target land is an island until end of turn" and so on, but.......What about quicksilver fountain, and some spirit guides, green or red to get that fountain into play! Hmmm

I think it does.. he just needs to Zuran Orb the extras off and sit pretty with those three Valleys in play He gets honorable mention, as anyone who uses Phasing for anything gets bonus points in any of my contests..
